Democrats are calling on President Biden to act forcefully and decisively to end the massive violence perpetrated by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people with the apparent intent to create conditions in which life is not sustainable, that is, through mass killing, forced famine, destruction of homes, medical and other infrastructure, and the resulting displacement.
The delegates to the Democratic Party of NM State Convention recently voted by 74% that our state Congressional delegation and President Biden must demand an immediate, unqualified ceasefire. So far, none of these officials has done so; they instead justify the actions of the Israeli government through false excuses and narratives.
Voting UNCOMMITTED in the June 4 Primary Election will send a strong message that President Biden must listen to the voice of the people in order to build a stronger Party for victory over Donald Trump in November. Millions of Americans are demanding the achievement of the following conditions through the necessary political means:
- An immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza; and
- The end of the blockade to allow the immediate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance (fuel, water, food, medical supplies and personnel) into Gaza; and
- The end of all military aid to Israel and the halt of the shipment of weapons into the war zone to all combatants; and
- The release of Israeli civilians being held as hostages, as well as Palestinian political prisoners; and
- The dismantling of illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and the establishment of a Palestinian state; and
- The elimination of the influence of multinational military-industrial-corporate lobbyists such as AIPAC and others over the interests of the American people.
